Stainless muzzle and rubber tear

Hi ,

I am planning to modify this stainless steel muzzle (similar to the Abellan model). The rubber keeps tearing, even though the stainless surface is already very smooth. I will drill a slot just before the top screws of the muzzle to see how that affects performance. Additionally, I will use an epoxy mixed with carbon fiber powder to coat the new modification ,does anyone have the same issues ?
