Any chance I could get you to post up a picture of where on your transom you mounted your Dragonfly transducer. I took my best guess for mine with all I had to work with as far has hull strakes, prop and engine, and other things on the Whaler. Thanks.

Re: RayMarine Dragonfly

I'll attempt to get a pic posted. I may have to PM it to you. It will be up in a day or so, soon as the weather gives us a break. Any advice on how to post the pic with the reply would be a big help to me. Thanks

Re: RayMarine Dragonfly

Just ordered a Dragonfly and looking forward to hooking it up to one of our Jackson Kayaks for some local fishing. Will report back on that ASAP. We have been hearing awesome reviews from kayak fisherman using it.

Re: RayMarine Dragonfly Display Problems

I just ran across this problem and thought that I would post it just in case someone else has it.
My down imaging screen(black and white screen) locked up in the sonar display which is the color screen. This is totally the wrong screen and furthermore, it would not even scroll, it just stayed frozen. This has never happened before and I was not able to get it to respond while out on the water. The rest of the displays worked properly so I knew that it was not the transducer but instead, was the head. When I got back home, I tried the unit again but it was still locked in the sonar screen. I was able to correct the problem by going to the tools setting and going into the system, I was able to do a total reboot. This does throw off the GPS and it has to refind itself but other than going back and resetting some preferances, everything works just like new.

Thanks for the heads up Searaydiver, my dragonfly has been working well, but at times takes longer to boot up than I think. Good to know that the re boot worked thank, the images and detail is great on this little unit.

Re: RayMarine Dragonfly

yeah, mine is what I would call a slow booter also. I think that's because of the internal GPS antenna, just a guess. There is a lot going on inside of this thing.
I did want to get the info out there about the reboot. I almost took mine back to West Marine but thought about the "trick". Glad it worked, saved me a two hour drive.

Re: RayMarine Dragonfly

I love my dragonfly so far. I just got it so it might be more updated but I don't think its any slower than any other gps. What takes the longest is when it turns on it has to find WAAS. Every gps does.
Waypoints are pretty easy, therez a keyboard and you just turn the know to the number or letter then press the knob in for enter

Ouch! you have to enter the waypoints manually?? That's a dealbreaker for sure. My next question was how many waypoints it held...but it does'nt even matter if that is the only way to input them.

Re: RayMarine Dragonfly

Maybe I described that poorly. Its the easiest waypoints I've ever set unless it was a touchscreen unit, and I've used alottt of units in my profession

Not sure on how many you can put in. Guess ill find out.
My biggest gripe is it doesn't have a mark button, I'm sure there's a way to do it but I have to read the manual more
