Charley gave us a very close call! Just a few degrees to the west and it would have been a lot worse. A lot of us on this board have boats. Are you prepared to deal with your insurance company?

Get your boat surveyed before the next storm hits. A marine survey will fully document the condition and VALUE of your boat. The survey report includes several digital photos and serial numbers of all equipment. This document makes the insurance adjuster's life easier by showing him exactly what is there.

Have a boat with lots of extra electronics or fishing gear? Your insurance will not pay a claim for them unless it is documented. Some insurance companies actually require a survey for renewal of policies.

The survey is not just for the boat buyer, it is for the current owner.
