Garmin 78S handheld GPSMAP. Where to buy it on-line?
Hello guys,
I'm in the market for a Garmin GPSMAP 78S with the VSA002R charts. Could anyone please let me know where to find it at a good price on-line? I need it to be shipped to Doral, FL. Thanks!

West Marine had the Garmin 78SC recently on sale for $249. I think that is a step up from the 78S. You can compare the different Garmin 78 models on their web site.

Thanks! What about the 64S? I was looking at it and it seems to be pretty much the same but with more memory, etc...

Re: Garmin 78S handheld GPSMAP. Where to buy it on-line?
I bought the Garmin GPS 64S for the purpose of Kayak diving. I previously used Etrex models without an electronic compass and they worked OK but not perfect. Read my review on Amazon for more info.....
I also cleared the memory of the hundreds of geocaching waypoints and customized the screens to suit my use. First thing is to update the embedded firmware via the internet, then spend a couple of hours learning the buttons and finally read all you can about short cuts and tips via the internet.... Dave |
