Newest snorkel
What do you think of this better mouse trap?
http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/powerbr...el-16-05-2012/ An innovative new snorkel has been created called the Powerbreather, which has taken the humble snorkel to the next level, providing twice the of air intake, as well as other neat features. The Powerbreather has been developed to prevent water from being swallowed at any time during use. The intake valve on the new Powerbreather snorkel is situated around the back of the head, allowing it to be used by swimmers as well as snorkelers and divers. Used air is expelled from the mouth piece valve, making sure that no spent air remains within the Powerbreather and no water enters the breathing system. Saving you from those gulps of water when snorkelling and having to blow water keep from your air tube after diving. “The valve technology of the Powerbreather makes it possible that only fresh air is ever inhaled. The design and the elastic material of the Powerbreather ensure that it fits tightly around the head. The Powerbreather eliminates orthopedic muscle imbalances. The Powerbreather ensures balanced muscle development on the left and right side of the body.”

Re: Newest snorkel
If someone gave it to me for free I'd try it. Generally less is more and simple always beats gimmicky

Re: Newest snorkel
Straight snorkel pipe is the way...even those that have soft rubber on the bend suck.

Re: Newest snorkel
I don't see how you could spit it out for your descent. For swimming I think it might be pretty cool.

Re: Newest snorkel
I made one of those a while back for Freestyle swim training. They work great for Lap swimming.

Re: Newest snorkel
When I was a kid I worked in the tropics as a scuba instructor for tourists. We had a bucket of snorkels with purge valves in the corner of the shop. No one used them as they were generally unreliable . Best motto " KISS".
Also your trachea is of a similar diameter to that of a snorkel tube therefore it is irrelevent that a new design snorkel has the ability to deliver twice the volume of air because you can only suck it in at the original rate. |
