Just got a new 12' Zodiac and plan on taking it out this weekend in RI. Has anyone been out there since the storm?

Rain shine, bad vis, I am planning on going on Saturday. I will be visiting my girlfriends parents with her on Saturday. They are a stones throw away from newport so I am gonna try and escape. Saturday chop is flat with near flat calming visibility from Friday. Let me know if you want someone to split gas with.

I'm going to try and go in Eastern CT/RI areas. Definitely bringing the rod and reel on board just in case. The webcams at Block right now are already showing some NASTY seas!!!! Should stir things up again!

I think season is done for me... I'm gonna go to Dominican rep in December, but I'm gonna be diving only, don't want to take a speargun with me...

I will let you know what the plan is once I get more information from the mechanic about the engine...hopefully its all fixed. If not it might be a slow ride out there on a 3.5

please report how the vis is. me and my friends went last week almost 2 weeks after Sandy and the vis was awful. maybe a foot and a half at best down off of Point Judith. but if the vis is good we might sneak in a last dive before calling it the end of the season. thanks.

I keep reading OTW fishing reports and stripers are still being caught by the r&r guys. Even north of Boston, on tuesday some guy caught a 54 pounder shorecasting in RI.

Went out for a dive today near Kettle Rock in Gloucester, vis was 15-20, temp 50. Going to try and hit Newport on Monday. Hopefully a big striper to end the season.

Went out to Whetherill on Monday, from the reports on the board it seemed to be the best place. The visibility varied as we hit different spots. It went from 5 feet to 20. Between 3 of us we got 7 tog, and saw a huge school of stripers, all schoolies which means the waters are yet to be too cold for them. Thanks for the advice guys.
