New Hampshire Blue Water Open

Come join us for this tournament in late September when the stripers have begun to school up and get ready to begin their migration south. Last year we had twenty-eight participants representing all the New England states. It was a wide mix of skill sets and a pleasure to meet everyone. So far, we already have a dozen signed up before even posting the event here. We have a local BBQ legend that wants to grill for us afterward and Don Stevens, owner of Atlantic Aqua Sport, is always a great host. All participants will receive a T-shirt and a gear swap will take place on site if you have some old gear or are looking to upgrade.

Date: Saturday, September 23, 2017
Location: Atlantic Aqua Sport
522 Sagamore Road, Rye, NH
603-436-4443
Registration: 7:30am - 8:30am
Registration Fee: $20, to be paid at registration
Briefing: 8:45am
Depart from AAS: 9:00am
Return: 2:30, in the parking lot of AAS, weigh-in shortly after
Boundaries: Coastal NH, including the NH portion of the Isle of Shoals
Shore, kayak, and boat diving allowed.
Heaviest striped bass wins and takes home the trophy.
A dive flag and NH Saltwater Recreational license are musts.
For questions call me at 207-400-6916 or at meglodon@comcast.net
Look forward to seeing you in September!
Thanks,

Re: New Hampshire Blue Water Open

How much is an out of state NH salt water license? I went to NH site, but they want all my personal info just to get a peak at pricing.

This is 3 links deep, and still not there-sheesh https://fishinglicense.org/form/step...n=NewHampshire

Thanks, Noel.

Hello Noel, the cost is $11 plus a $1 "processing" fee. If you have a MA or ME license, they have reciprocity with NH.

Thanks

Re: New Hampshire Blue Water Open

The New Hampshire Blue Water Open has been postponed from this Saturday the 23rd of September, to Sunday, the 1st of October. The six foot waves and complete lack of visibility would make for a less than pleasant day for all. Hope to see you on October 1. It is still unknown what Hurricane Maria will do and I will send an update next week. September has been brutal.

Thanks,

Chuck Porter

Re: New Hampshire Blue Water Open

Hey all, I am brand new to spear fishing. I am going to be fishing in New Hampshire waters. If anyone could recommend a dive suit, flippers, mask and gun that would be great. Also, if you don’t mind sharing some spots. Thank you very much. I own a 24 CC if anyone ever wants to show me some tips!!!

Re: New Hampshire Blue Water Open

I hate to do this, but we must cancel Saturday's NH Blue Water tourney. The water is brown and the swells are growing. We have rescheduled to next Saturday, the 22nd of September. Hope you can make it.

Thanks,

Chuck Porter
