Re: New Dive Video

I use a Canon 5d mk2 with a 16-35mm 2.8 lens in a EWA marine water bag. Not a great case but it keeps the camera dry. Hard to operate camera functions especially in 50 degree water. The case turns into a rock. Edited on adobe premier CS6. No filters just did a custom white balance to get the colors close. Thanks again for the positive feedback!

Re: New Dive Video

Great Job!! Was hoping to shoot a vid like that one day once I have the equipment. Looks like a 'surf vid' style = perfect for this sport. The multiple angles makes the audience more involved as well. Now all you need is some bigger fish!!

That video was awesome!

Not getting a chance to get back home to RI to dive this year, that video was great for me, makes you feel like you're there. Great video quality and viz!

Re: New Dive Video

Very good job dude. I like how it's more cinematic. It's not your typical point and shoot stuff.

Really Jim? I've always been more partial to the finding and shooting aspect of diving.

And Spearfrenzy, great video by the way! Like Jim, I love that you included a good amount of the exploration aspect of the sport. I mean lets face it...why do we all watch spearfishing videos from November to April? Obviously to get that feeling of being back in the hunt. This video was probably the best I'd seen at really recreating that experience for the viewer. We spend the majority of our time in the water looking for the fish, and I agree with Jim, videos that edit those sections out and just have clips of fish being shot can feel inauthentic.

It's hard to find professional quality spearfishing videos created in our Northeast waters. Most of the professional stuff is shot in southern oceans with clearer water, which makes for great footage, but watching some guy in 80-100 foot vis shoot fish probably doesn't resonate with this group the way your good homegrown footage does. Thanks for putting it together and posting it for us to enjoy.
