Gopro C4 mount prototype
Finally received my prototypes...
Just have to make some tweaks in the 3D model and have the final version made in SS and plastic. I had a mount but wanted something that had the least amount of parts as possible (just one in this case), had a slimmer profile and kept the camera in a position where it would interfere the least with loading and aiming while giving a more POV perspective. Also wanted to be able to mount/release the camera quickly... |

Sweet! How can I get some for my Urukay 120 and Graphite 116 & 132?

Re: Gopro C4 mount prototype
Have you tried it yet? I have had issues with recoil knocking the camera back at the exact time of the shot and missing it?

I'll make some refinements on the 3D model, this weekend, and then order the final versions in plastic (thicker then the one in the pictures), SS and Brass. I should have these by the end of the month and then let you all know how you can get them. Quote:
thanks fro the interest. |

Re: Gopro C4 mount prototype
With respect to recoil.....I have had good luck with using an L bracket that sits under the mount and behind the camera. Attach with a zip tie or rubber bands..

Re: Gopro C4 mount prototype
If the base of your mount had a solid bottom (instead o being 'hollow') you could use the gopro security plug (which comes with the camera) to help prevent recoil and improve overall stability.

I believe that the plug can stay in place by friction only (and it's connected to the screw so it won't get lost)... This plug doesn't help with the main recoil problem which is that the camera tends to tilt forward... thanks for the feedback! I'll consider it for the next version. Re: Gopro C4 mount prototype
New version arrived today... testing it tomorrow. There was an issue with the metal version and it was postponed but I'm really happy with the plastic that I might not go for metal after all.

Re: Gopro C4 mount prototype
I already found a (very unlikely to happen) way to break these and am now working on a new version. If anyone wants to try these I have a few that I can send for 8€ (just to cover shipping and part of the material). thanks

First testing day... My first point nose grouper (Mycteroperca fusca)
Unfortunately, there's no footage as the camera battery was long gone... more then 6h session. Last edited by marginatus; 07-19-2013 at 03:38 PM. |

Re: Gopro C4 mount prototype
Hey there!! I been reading your research and inventions for the c4 gopro mount and I really like them. Do you have a final reinforced product yet? If so would sell me one? I've found couple metal ones between $10 to $20 but they are kind of ugly, unlike yours. Please let me know.
Thank you, Roni. |
