There are other big sink holes out there in a similar depth (50 to 80 fathoms). I wonder if they looked at any of those or even if they know about them at all? I have the numbers on about 50 sink holes between the Dry Torgugas and Apalachicola. Some are very small (about 30”) and some as much as 150’ wide.

Completely explored, maps published , fresh water flow checked for and measured. A lot of the bigger sinks on both coasts have been studied by the USGS years ago. They even dove the Snapper sink off St Augustine on OC to over 464' when recreation tri-mix was brand new.
