Re: Be careful what you eat

One more argument for celibacy before marriage and monogamy after marriage - just like God said to do.

Saw the report on Good Morning America. What I found funny was that he dated Elizabeth Vargas at one time, which is one of the anchors to that show.

Re: Be careful what you eat

Just because the Old Testament recorded what people did, does not mean that God approved of it, or that it was His design for marriage.

Jesus made it clear what God's design for marriage was in Matthew 19 when he quoted Genesis 2:24 as God's command regarding marriage:

Matthew 19:1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh?

6 Wherefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Clearly, God's plan according to Jesus and Genesis from the beginning was one man and one woman for life. Any other arrangement is an aberration, no matter who practiced it.

I doubt that God had anything to do with it, but I bet Northstar will approve of this message. I sent the article to a group of friends including my brother-in-law, and here is his reply.

My good hippy radical Marxist sociologist friend from my college teaching days was not so lucky. He got mouth, and then throat cancer....all treated aggressively at Mayo Clinic. He's been dealing with it for years. First, no salivary glands, so had to sip water constantly. Then the cancer came back. Radical surgery. No ability to eat. I last saw him a couple of years ago. He has a permanent port for a feeding tube and travels the world with his wife and has to get his case(s) of liquid food through TSA in each country. Some very interesting tales there. He poignantly described the waiter in Italy weeping openly when he told the waiter that he could not eat food. I had always assumed that it was from his smoking and/or drinking, but it was from oral sex...HPV.

A sad story, but what you sow you reap. If everyone followed God's plan for human sexuality, there would be no STD's, including AIDS.

OK, forgive me if I'm wrong, and I'm too lazy to go back and search for your posts. But haven't you told us that every word in the bible is the inerrant word of God? The Old Testament is part of the bible.
