Second Halibut!!
So. After my WSB miss I was pretty pissed, but, I went out at the same spot (undisclosed) the next day and my luck slightly changed. I was on my way in, standing about five feet from shore, looking around for my Dad (this was fathers day). I put my face in the water to take my fins off and out of the corner of my eye i see a little halibut face. I swam over and it looked short but the more in inspected it the more it seemed legal. I convinced myself that it was legal and took aim at its spine right behind the gills with my jbl (haha). It was a perfect shot and the fish barely moved. I picked up my spear and walked out of the water, simple as that. Its was 22.01". Legal is legal.

Re: Second Halibut!!
5 feet just where the sand changes from smooth to wavy is where I find most of my halibut. Nice job and nice shot! Looks like you brained him/her anyways precautionary measure? Nice fish!
