Talking spearfishing in front of large hydroelectric turbines lol

Yesterday we got our first snow... oct 10, wow, but I also had my best spearfishing day of the 'summer'... finally something did not suck in 2020.

These are channel catfish (big mothers for the species).

Do subscribe, to my chanel and to other spearfishermen chanels, it helps.

I remember as a kid reading in Fisherman Magazine about how these Hydro Electric Turbines held warmer water near them and the Striped Bass would overwinter there. And how this guy wound up getting sucked into the Intake Valve..

LOL, those would have been nuclear outflows. Hydroelectricity is water going from up top, through turbines and out. No warm water here unfortunately, but no intake on the outflow side. but don't go up upriver!

Here it is :

We used to surf San Onofre when it was still operating. Don't know where the intake was, probably way out to sea, but the warm water coming off the cooling towers was really nice.
