Re: Hi Visibility Momoi Shooting Line $10 Shipped
Thought I'd give this a bump and see if you're still at it. I'd pick up some 250#.

Put me down for a vote for the 250, I'd buy a few coils.

Re: Hi Visibility Momoi Shooting Line $10 Shipped
Davej the 400 is a momoi item and can be had from lots of sources, but can mail you some from my stash.
Everyone else, will get around to making a big spool of 250 this month, have a new build going and need to re-rig the other guns anyway. Btw the dozen I unloaded this experiment upon -- field reports, please. No news is good news usually but want to hear from you squeaky wheels. |

Re: Hi Visibility Momoi Shooting Line $10 Shipped
~~~> I can't believe I'm finally interested in mono shooting line. I do have a question for anyone, can 250lb. test mono actually withstand small nicks and abrasions without premature failure? Or is it an order of business to change the line frequently, since the cost factor makes this economical? Thanks, Kerry.
I use the Momoi's. They work just as good as the Bill Fisher.
Re: Hi Visibility Momoi Shooting Line $10 Shipped
Im also interested in the 250 line. I bought the 400 lb line for my gun (aimrite pro comp 100 cm) and its a bit too thick.
Oh no, are me and diablo loco the only people in the ocean using the Moimoi crimps!! They should sponsor us. LOL LOL The BillFisher crimps where to thin to allow the 400 lb line thru, so I used the ones that came with the Moimoi line. Works just fine. For those who are ultra picky, using the moimoi crimps adds .00004% drag to the line. Thats about it. Sweetloaf, any idea when the 250 line will be available? Re: Hi Visibility Momoi Shooting Line $10 Shipped
I haven't tried you line yet, but I do use 250# Momoi that I just RIT dyed black. It's what I use on my guns in NorCal and it works great. I prefer it because it's smaller diameter seems to effect the flight of the short shafts on my guns much less than heavier mono did.
As for durability, it seems to hold up fine to all the abuse it gets on the rocks around here, although I do keep an eye on it and change it out if it gets too bruised up. I also like the fact that it fits into 1.6mm crimps, so the whole package is lower profile. Ron. |
Re: Hi Visibility Momoi Shooting Line $10 Shipped
Looks like I am going to need some new mono sooner than I thought. Dont know if I can wait for the 250 sweetloaf stuff.
What other stuff are you guys using that's thinner than the 400 lb moimoi for your guns. I have an 100 cm aim rite venom pro comp. The 400 lb is just too thick to work with. |
Maybe you meant to do it this way... From my experience, its incorrect. I also like to cut the excess mono off, it can tangle very easily with gear or debris, create unnecessary drag, poke your hands... you don't need it. Re: Hi Visibility Momoi Shooting Line $10 Shipped
Jujuman thanks for the heads up, I didn't know there was a specific way to crimp the crimps. Now I know for next time.
As for the excess, your definitely right about it getting caught on things. I had a few problems with the excess catching on my wish bones. Definitely will cut it off next time. |
