Re: Show me your Wong!
Here's mine before it was completed. Standard 55" GR rear plus. I ordered an extra shaft and slip tip so I can rig it for better WSB hunting. I like it a lot and will probably order another from him in the future...especially if I end up in Cali after school is all finished (probably a shorter gun for better hole hunting). I had "cu na mara" carved into it. It's Gaelic and means hound of the sea (also the name of my grandfathers sailboat that he used to race from Cali to Hawaii). One thing I really wish I had done was to have standard fish lengths engraved in the gun's side (10" 12" 14" 15" and 22": the wooden stock wouldn't fit anything longer). I really hated writing in sharpie on the new gun.

I've never been able to see the point in measurements on a gun. Most fish won't let you hold the gun next to them before you shoot anyway.

Re: Show me your Wong!
Nice Wong! I don't see the point in measurements on a gun. You're telling me your going to shoot an undersized fish, let it die, then measure it so you can ditch it? Can't shoot regular sized fish in front of your friends? just saying..

Re: Show me your Wong!
I just meant that it's added security and would be a good tool to learn fish sizes when one is still in the process of becoming proficient. I've read the advice of someone on here or bloodydecks (can't remember which one), that a good way to determine fish size is to shoot the ones that don't have a minimum size for practice (while still bringing them home to eat of course). That way a newer diver can learn more easily what legal sizes are before they start shooting the regulated fish. Besides, I like to be able to determine what size the fish is after shooting it, just like I like to check my targets to see my shot placement when going to the range or getting my test grades right away. In no way am I advocating shooting fish just to see if they are legal or not

Re: Show me your Wong!
Daryl Wong is one of the nicest people I've ever had the honor to speak with. Within 30 minutes of sending him an email about the gun, he offered to replace the line anchor and handle free of charge. I didn't even buy the gun from Daryl himself. Since it is an older gun, it has the generation 1 Aimrite handle and an incorrect line anchor. I'll definitely be adding another Wong (or two) to my arsenal. The only thing I regret is going through so many different guns and not buying a Wong to begin with. I now understand what the best customer service in the business means

Re: Show me your Wong!
Dr. Wong just made this one up for me! It turned out beautiful. +1 for customer service. He and I had to communicate via e-mail only because I am currently deployed for the Navy. Not only did he get everything I wanted and create a piece of art but he also offered to take me out diving when I pull in to Hawaii in a week to try it out. I will definitely be getting an ONO from him in the future!

Re: Show me your Wong!
Mines on order! Had the pleasure of meeting and talking with him at the blue wild, and he is one of the kindest, most knowledgable individuals I have ever met. His compassion for building spearguns is amazing. I'll update with pictures as soon as I get them!
