Re: Speargun Beauty Contest
Time to throw my hat into the ring fellas! She's 58 inches long and has a teak center runner and maple, teak and honduran mahogany lams. I tapered the muzzle 3 ways and used a neptonics enclosed track with all neptonics hardware, including the bottom line release with pushrod trigger. Set it up with a hawaiian release. the shaft is a 66 inch mori shaft and slip-tip. Band stretch is 50 and a half inches and it shoots like a lazer! I broke her in last weekend-in style!!! Heres some shots

Re: Speargun Beauty Contest
Even though most of the time i use my polespear, there are ocassion in which i also like having a speargun, and this is what our local Workshop or shaper produces (Memo's Spearfishing workshop). So if you are coming to Baja let him know before hand and he can have a gun ready for you. I am stoked on how it looks and even more on how it performs.

Re: Speargun Beauty Contest
My dive buddy Pat did the original tako design, see "Pat's tako" from the 2011 guns on DW's page. He also did a honu (sea turtle) gun. After posting the results of Pat's tako work Daryl got flooded with requests and almost took the photos down. Daryl commissioned him to do the paint for another customer's gun, "Vilmar's refinish" I think.

Re: Speargun Beauty Contest
Thought I'd add a little diversity to this thread and add a sexy railgun.

Are you gonna install a trigger guard? Is it a free shaft gun? I don't see a line release. What type of wood did you use? How is the balance?

Re: Speargun Beauty Contest
Yes, I have installed a trigger guard. I was in a hurry with the photos :-)
And yes, it has a line release, you can see he hole for the pivot pin - and it is now fully rigged. The wood is supposed to be some grade of teak, that was given to me - smells like teak - but I can't tell for sure. |

Re: Speargun Beauty Contest
It fires two 5/16'' shafts independantly with each trigger pull through the use of an internal selector mechanism. The fins are staggered for each shaft so that the bands will clear each other. The safety on the side has three positions, Safe, Fire Left, and Fire Right, in that order. There are individual line releases for each shaft as can be seen on the bottom of the gun. If you search my posting history, you can see pictures of the initial design from a couple years ago. I build them for sale, but do not know Spearboards policy on advertising.
