Has anyone vere gone out to catch clams in Tampa Bay?

Just as title says. My girlfriend is from Washington and loves clams. I have only found a few you tube videos on the subject for Florida but the clams are HUGE!!! Any idea where is a good place to go and how to do it?

Thank you for your consideration.

The bigger ones are tough but good for clam chowder after processing.
Find a pollution free sandy bottom area along the shore line with no red tide that would affect them. Grab a beer in a coozie, relax in the water while digging with your toes/feet into the sand down to about 6" max and kind of plow/dig thru it with your toes until you run across hard items. I usually carry them home in some clean salt water in a 5 gallon bucket with lid to keep salt water from sloshing into the vehicle.
Oh, when you find a spot that produces, don't let people see/know what you're doing or else there won't be any the next time you come back. Of course, rotate your harvest spots so you're not wiping out the populations in those areas.

Also keep your eye out for indicators...clam skeletons.
