Forschner 10" boning Knife

I'm finding it nauseatingly difficult to a Forschner 10" boning Knife online for sale. Any of you guys have any leads on an online store?

Yes I did a "search"...

Why not just go to a shop that sells them? I need to go buy a new knife today because one of mine went swimming at Catalina this weekend. Smart and Final sells the Dexter Russel brand for really cheap. I have a 12" DR for shark fishing and it is a great knife if you don't abuse it.

I live in Venice Beach. You wanna cup of espresso we got it, you wanna $1000 handbag, we got those too, you want anything remotely fishing related? Get-in-yo-car-and-drive-bitch.

Besides whatever I've seen in a store I've always found online for 20% less and it comes to my door.

Right on. I'm just the kind of guy that needs it right now. I hate waiting for anything. Usually the 20% you save you end up spending on shipping anyway. Good luck.

At this rate I'm not sure I'm going to find it at all. Might have to get on the blower and ring around.

(And for what it's worth I usually find stuff about 20% less inc. shipping).

Why do you have to always make something as simple as getting a knife a soap opera?

Smart and final like Leo said...mori sells filet knives as well. Any sharp knife will cut a fish. Make sure you buy a good stone to keep it sharp. Filet knives have a habit of walking off the boat or outta my garage so I keep them cheap. I've got one for you

I'm an actor, did you really expect anything less?

Btw, probably heading to Mori's to re-rig reel line if you need anything.

Re: Forschner 10" boning Knife

Also, this is just me, but I think a 10" knife is just too big to cut fish. I use a 6" 95% of the time. I have an 8" that I use occasionally and the 12 for sharks. But, different strokes for different folks. I had a guy laugh at me on the boat one time for using a 6" to cut Yt and tuna. The deckhand was using a 10" and I out cut him 4-5 to 1. I know experience was definitely a factor, but that big knife was hard to wield on a cutting board when you are trying to be fast. Once again, just me as I know people will disagree, but this is what works really well for me.

Re: Forschner 10" boning Knife

Save yourself some headache and get a 6" if you are filleting. If you are gonna "steak" big fish then get a 10".

Re: Forschner 10" boning Knife

I'm with Tanc re buying on line. If I drive my truck even 10 miles round trip to buy a knife, gas will cost at least $4.15. A trip to Mori's will cost almost $50.

This will be your only fillet knife? I would highly suggest getting a 6" knife, and they can be had on amazon for $8-15, free shipping with prime..
I wrestled with a bigger knife for years then got a little 6" for bait etc and now it is my go to knife.
good luck
