Best dive shop in the world?
I recently moved over to Panama City to explore some different water. So when I started to look for a place to keep the boat, we called the guys at the Dive Locker to see if they might know where we cold park it. We had been to their shop before and had one of those free beers while we shopped.(They are really nice guys! )
So, Tony didn't just find us a spot, he let us rent one from him so that we don't have to lug tanks all over creation. And he remembered my name only the second time I went into his shop! How many times have you experienced that? When we got the boat there, three guys on the staff helped us do a little shuffling of other boats so that we could get in and out easier. We met Tony of course, then Pat, Pat, Todd, Jared, Jared and Doug. And they were all so helpful, not just with the boat but everything we needed for the weekend's dive. On Saturday, tony even gave us a couple of natural reef numbers! We felt like the cat that just ate the canary! Next time you are in PC, check out the a different kind of approach to dive shop operation. These guys are all very different than the average dive shop. Oh yeah, and look by the counter for that free beer while you browse the store! Thanks guys! Roger |

Re: Best dive shop in the world?
Glad to help Roger.
Rodman, if you don't mind me asking... what happened to you at the Locker that was awefull? I have only just started working with the shop as a Captain and previously I have only experienced and heard good things, especially here on spearboard.

When I'm in PC, Dive Locker is my LDS. I don't even bother stopping at any others.

Same here. Every time I've been in, I get nothing but great service. I didn't know about the free beer, however. I think I'll stop in more often...apparently, Tony serves my favorite brand!

Captain Bil,
He asked that you take only one, but that's all you need anyway as you buy what you need for the day! What a great guy Tony is. |

Re: Best dive shop in the world?
My buddy got a free beer a few weekends ago down there, of course Tony had to let everyone know that he got the last one.
I'll have to say they have been very easy guys to get along with... Shaun |

Re: Best dive shop in the world?
I have enjoyed everytime I have stopped in, and I am used to great service at the Emerald Coast in Destin. I certainly enjoyed to down home atmosphere at the Dive Locker. I wonder, do they have free diet coke for those of us who don't use beer?

I think I've been there when he had a few cokes in that free beer cooler. I think those are for the kids though.

Re: Best dive shop in the world?
A dive shop is only as good as the people who work there, and in this case the employees are some of the best. I hope they all stick around a long time. They are also some of the finest spearos (and dive buddies) there is, check out Joe's AJ in the other thread.
