Re: WTB: Garmin 3210

On the same note. My Garmin 2010 screen was going bad, I have 3000 numbers in that unit, and didn't want to loose them. I found a nice used unit on E Bay and was able to transfer the numbers. Then I tried to move them to my new 12" Garmin touch screen..no luck. I contacted Garmin, still no luck ( it was discussed on this site at some point) but back to the point, After I had bought the used unit I found a site that replaces the screen with new screens, for less than the used unit...had i only known!
So look around.

Re: WTB: Garmin 3210

If you can store the numbers on a micro SD card you can then upload them into the Seamarks program sold by Andren software co. The Seamarks program will then convert the numbers to the Garmin format and then you can reload onto a micro SD and then dump them back into the Garmin.

That's the problem, getting it off the old version Garmin card. Garmin said it can be done if you have a windows 7 computer and the Marine data management kit ( no longer sold btw).
You can call Garmin support @ 800-800-1020
I gave up.

Thanks very much for that offer!
What I decided to do instead was mount the 2010 as a back up GPS. I went thru most of my numbers and picked out one of the better in a group ( as you know, find one good spot you often find other spots very near it). That "representative number" was then entered into my new Garmin Touch screen, by hand. But the screen isn't so cluttered, now that I have so many less spots. If I go to one of those spots I can glance at the 2010 back up and see the other sites adjacent/near it, and Navigate by that unit.

Yea the new Garmin units stack the waypoint like books instead of the convention they had 10 years ago with the 3000 series.
So if you have a couple of #'s close by you can't see them on the screen unless you zoom in, really annoying. You can't even prioritize by color or symbol which ones are on top and seen.
On my 3210 I color coded the good #'s and the spots nearby are just small black dots,
This way you can look at the screen and see the colored one s to decide where to go next.

They will do 3210 , but I purchased some polarizing film to replace the yellowed film in my LCD like $50.
This should bring it back like new

Great!
Your lucky, my screen was actually gone, no film was gonna help it!
So you're back in business.

Re: WTB: Garmin 3210

I recently had an issue with my auto pilot. It is no longer serviced by
Raymarine, but they gave me Two Great places to go, and they were able to hook me up!
I'm glad "straycat" was able to get his 3210 fixed, these guys can replace screens and fix all sorts of marine electronics. So if you ever have the need, here they are;
seawiremarine.com 305-489-1600
and
maxmarineelectronics.com 754-220-6565
