some tar in malibu
The other day in Malibu I saw some tar floating on the surface, and then I stepped on some tar on my way out.
I was hoping that the Huntington Beach crude oil leak had moved to the south, thanks to our California current. But ocean currents are unpredictable, and some may have ended up north. Of course this Malibu tar could have come from many other sources, including and up to S.Barbara. In any case the tar is messy, and you need to have paper tissues and alcohol in your car to clean it up. |

Re: some tar in malibu
Growing up in Ventura we had to watch for tar on the beach every summer. There are literally 100's of natural seepage points along the central coast.
We always had Baby Oil and paper towels ready to go for visitors who unknowingly would step on every piece of tar on the beach. Check out this article. https://goletahistory.com/tar/ Cheers, Kadman |
