Your problem here would be getting the drill chuck down the handle hollow to keep the drill bit short. If you don't want the existing handle chop it off to access the screws. Last edited by popgun pete; 06-30-2020 at 05:38 PM. |

Re: Remove AR grip
This would have to be an optimistic rendition.

Re: Remove AR grip
Sorry...I thought that was obvious. Left hand drill bit must be turned Counter Clockwise....But on that note, when was the last time you saw a drill that didn't reverse???

Re: Remove AR grip
It was only one option to drill through the pan head with bit having similar diameter of the screw shank then use locking pliers to remove the screw ,the screw was deep inside the grip and the stripped bit was short ,no damaged to the thread ,now to fix the lock grip I ll need to replace the machine screw with Allen key head ,the lock grip is a new design made basically from the ergonomic handle with some modification cause the old handle was designed for XXL hand ,grip have inclined surface with horizontal axis which easily fixed with sharp file, the only note was the slot where it will engaged to the AR frame still not modified it have very shallow angel (1-5 degree)with the vertical axis similar to the original handle I hope it won't have effect on the recoil management .

Re: Remove AR grip
It's a nice looking grip. Does it end up sitting a bit lower than the former AR handle?

Re: Remove AR grip
DoyenofCastle,
I worked on the Design of the LockDown grip. I'm not sure what you are saying here or why you are filing, maybe to fit on the Wood of the Gun? But the Grip should fit seemlessly onto a standard AR-15 Lower. One trick. This Grip is designed to be used with both Mid Handle and Rear Handle Spearguns, similarly it is designed to be used with Benchrest Shooting AR-15 Firearms. As such, for Mid Handles and actual AR-15 and other Firearms, the Rake (Forward Angle) is desired less. For Rear Handle Spearguns you can increase the Rake by Angling the Pocket for the Handle Frame or by Shimming the Pocket, or even just putting washers under the front screws of the Handle Frame.
