Hi guys ,

I just got free time away from work ,I have done few laminated stock from african wood (Iroko , sapelli , Kosipo , Mahogany ) ,for this thread I post the Mahogany gun with my old trigger american reef neptonic ,I do the programming of CNC by some software that can turn all my ideas to a nice product ,semi shallow colored track ,I paint it with 5 layers epoxy with gold pigment .

Re: My Latest build

Looks smooth and sleek with a nice taper counterbalanced by a cobra head at the muzzle.

Re: My Latest build

Beautiful gun! And I am truly jealous of that CNC router....

BTW, did you just lay the new gun on top of a tipped BBQ? XD XD XD

Great job,

Mikel

Re: My Latest build

my weakest point is taking a good pictures , need to find someone to teach that ,of course taking a professional pictures for your item will show how great it look that why I use BBQ

For 3D CNC I believe my speargun not yet reach to the optimum shape , still modification even small details is very important ,in this one band elevator was not done as I want and line guide need to be shifted few millimeter near the spear , this not affect the performance but affect shape ,when I make the perfect gun I'll go for 3D scanning ,today catch was nice but still rubber not giving me the enough power for long shot I need to either put another one or just go back to traditional 16 mm rubber

Re: My Latest build

I have made another one for shallow water with EURO Neptonic reef ,85 cm length ,I coat both sides with black epoxy and keep the green / yellow in center
I Choose Iroko because of the its high buoyancy but I think this wood from the heart ,its very dense and won't need any lead ,usually I prefer barely floated gun but due to length /density it won't be possible .

Re: My Latest build

short gun have extra negative buoyancy -150 g (calculated by taking sample from stock and measure the buoyancy ) ,I want to use the middle slot for trap some air (volume 16 cm3 minus the cover cap) put a thick cap with a sealed of epoxy , I have checked and I think Air pocket could be equivalent to (80 - 100) g of S steel ,there is no more space to add or remove so Is there any thread about using air pocket to increase the buoyancy ?
