Im fully aware of how the SS affects sharks but considering GGs are preditorial and do eat sharks????
I've not noticed anything - ggs are still pretty "meh" when they see me, but then again I haven't been diving artificials or wrecks for a long time.

Though last year I did dive Pasco 4 in the winter during the GG spawn - dozens of the damn things, some stacked 3 to a culvert. Shot a nice bunch of fish and they never gave me a problem.

Given how most women react to me, I would say this is true.

Feeding goliaths, sharks, etc. - very stupid.

Yep. It's funny how just about everyone knows feeding bears, lions, wolves, alligators, crocs or any large animal is a bad idea, because everyone agrees these animals are smart and will associate humans with food. However, when it comes to marine life, in one breath they talk about how smart sharks and fish are and then in the next breath they justify feeding them because they're dumb and won't associate humans with food. I hear Shark Week is on right now, I can only imagine the douchebachery that is being displayed on that show right now.

Been watching Shark Week and have observed some really unnecessary stupidity going on.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

They stuck Shaquille's ars in a shark cage while chumming the surrounding area and a 3 footer go into the cage.
You just know he was PERTRIFIED to say the least and had to change his panties.

CuzzA: always good stuff, I always read and try to retain your posts!

I watched some with my lady... who's morbidly fascinated/terrified by sharks, God Love Her!
I wouldn't say mere douchebachery, more like instructions on how to bait sharks in towards where people are; or maybe demonstrating dinner bell ringing techniques for some species that prey on us, specifically divers; they did everything they could to secure marketing/viewership but throw a politically unacceptable/criminal to the sharks... that's coming in 2020, stay tuned!

Anybody out lately? What's the vis like? I'm trying to go out tomorrow or Saturday, but the weather doesn't look too friendly!

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Went looking for AJs yesterday with no luck. We hit 3 good wrecks in 75-85. We shot a few nice Almaco and I shot a 58lb Cobia from 6 inches away from my gun tip!

Vis out deep was nearly top to bottom. Had a few bull sharks show up on the last wreck. No Permit and no legal AJs.

Came in to Pasco 2 area. Maybe 15-20 vis. Tons of bait. Spooky gags and nice mangos. More Spanish Mackeral than Ive ever seen.

Damn nice cobia there!!

Any hogfish around? I'm heading out Sunday and Tuesday to similar spots and depths - hoping the return of the west winds won't mess viz up again.
