african cherry or makore wood

Why no one built speargun from makore? it seem the best alternative to teak even it can be treated by oil only ,more durable than most woods and cover category 5 contact with seawater ,is it true?

Re: african cherry or makore wood

http://www.wood-database.com/makore/

Specific Gravity (Basic, 12% MC): .55, .69
Shrinkage: Radial: 5.5%, Tangential: 7.7%, Volumetric: 12.4%, T/R Ratio: 1.4
Modulus of Rupture: 16,330 lbf/in2 (112.6 MPa)
Grain generally straight, very durable, and is also resistant to insect attack,Category 5 direct contact to water ,no preservation required ,

the only thing you have to wear respiratory protection similar to the one used with epoxy so why no one use this wood ?similar to teak properties except it need full mask protection .
