The Trip Report Challenge Last Quarter 2013 USA East Coast nomination process finalists are below. I congratulate these finalists and have started the above poll for you to vote for "the best" in accordance with the following rules:

The three geographic regions are USA East Coast (includes Gulf), USA West Coast, and International. There will also be a prize for best video in each time period. The video may or may not be part of a trip report and thus a compilation video may qualify. Spearfishing has to be the primary subject of the video.

Please vote based on quality of the report and/or video and not popularity of people, fish or areas that you are most familiar with personally.

and you can vote in all three regional polls in the two time periods per this rule:

all members with more than 50 posts are then able to vote one time for their favorite trip reports among the final nominations.

Reason for Nomination: idk I guess cause I want my husband's video to win and I think he made a cool video plus we had a great time filming great memories together and we love sharing our passion for spearfishing... Its one cool hobby!

Reason for Nomination: Some difficult shots at difficult angles. Different species are in the video. Best of all, I used my homemade hybrid on most shots which makes it more exciting

Description: Compilation of the spearfishing I clips I took over the course of these passed few months in Florida. Video shows the use of spearguns as well as pole spears and hawaiian slings.
Reason for Nomination: It shows a number of different styles of hunting at a wide range of depths as well as experiences had above the water.

Description: Video of Spearfishing from the first 3 quarters of this year. Diving in Stuart, boca raton, Jupiter, ft lauderdale, west end, marathon, and the marquesas.
Reason for Nomination: It's been an awesome year diving and I've captured some equally awesome footage. I've also had the opportunities to dive with some amazing people and divers and meet a bunch of new people in the spearing community.

There will be a pool of prizes for the trip reports in three regions and the video winner. If the prizes are usable in all geographic regions, the four winners will try to agree which prize they want. If they can't agree, we will use a selection method like Rock –Paper - Scissors. Being awarded a prize should be a secondary consideration to the honor of being selected as the best trip reporter or video maker by your fellow spearfishing men and women.

As a bonus and because this is the first video challenge, we are giving away a special prize for the best video of the six video finalists (three each for the two time periods) in the challenge for 2013. As a video professional myself, I will be the final judge of the overall winning video.

The prize is the following custom hybrid speargun from Spearboard sponsor Impaler Spearguns. Company owner Jason is the outstanding new custom hybrid speargun designer who joined the community and marketplace in 2013.
