Drybags

Morning, California

What brand drybag do you use? What size and why? And where's the best price you found one?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Drybags

I use a shitty one that I bought from cabelas or bass pro shops, it was fairly inexpensive (I'm thinking 20$ or less for a sleeping bag sized one). I also bought that waterproof backpack from costco that someone posted about a year or so ago.

Re: Drybags

55l is 14.5 gallons, a standard home depot bucket is 5 gallons if that helps tanc. Mine does it's job (it's white with a blue bottom so now I'm not sure where I got it) and I bought it when they have their quarterly sales. If it's something you won't need that often one of the heavy duty home depot trashbags does its job as well.

Re: Drybags

Tanc,

Swing by your nearest REI they have a drybag that I use when doing the cliffs at PV its red w/ black bacpac straps perfect for doing the trails and such after being in the water. they hold a 62# wsb as well as all your gear
w/out getting you wet/slimey for hike back up. I don't remember how much I paid I think it was like $30-40. Another nice thing about REI products is they carry a lifetime warranty, My mesh dive bag is also from REI and I've exchanged that one about three times in the last 20 years.

Re: Drybags

I found this bag on Amazon for around $65 two months ago. Haven't used it for climbing the hill yet but will def fit all of your gear and fish. Its almost too big and I wish I had bought the next size down. The back cushion is clutch for extended carrying.

Re: Drybags

I've got one that Sears use to sell. It's about hte size of a 5gal bucket. Think it was about $20-30. I also have one of the Costco dry backpakcs that went on sale a few years ago but I haven't used it yet....

Re: Drybags

My Costco dry bag/backpack has served me well but has now begun to let water seep in. I can't tell how it's getting in... I know it must be through some seems, but I can't figure it out

Inflate it and put it underwater and you will know where it leaks

Re: Drybags

Cabelas Boundary Waters dry bags. I've got six of them up to five years old. I use four for dry storage on the boat, and the other two for ditch bags. They are tough as hell, easy to repair if damaged, and relatively inexpensive.
