I'm in La Paz for a few months. Having your own car and kayak is essential if you want to dive everyday.

Very nice! You scared me when I seen you grab a hold of that shaft though.

Re: Wahoo with a reef gun, good idea?
Kinda reminds me of my trip to cape lookout jetties on a Sherpa shooting trip. 90cm mako predator pro speargun and a Cobia swimming with a ray swims by. No reel, no floatline, nothing but a bare gun and dive knife. I thought to long about taking the shot as I knew that was going to be one hell of a ride IF I could even hold on to the gun and they swam off. A couple minutes later they came back and I said F-it. I took a hell Mary breath hold, took aim and fired. STONE COLD DEAD. weighed it in a chasing tails at 54lbs. Since then I have taken 4 more Cobia in the same location, same gun, no reel, float, or anything and all between 38-54 lbs. All but that one was like jumping on the back of a pissed off bull but with determination and good grip, very doable.
Most speargun are capable of alot more than we give them credit for. Hell of a catch though. I'm super jealous!

Nice Capture. Wasn't very deep so the fish will not sound just got to make it to surface and then swim with it as fast as you can so no pressure.. ofcourse sharkies change the ho situation. Now you know where they can be. Bring some chum.

Re: Wahoo with a reef gun, good idea?
I now have a slip tip on the 150. I'll use the 130 on the reef.
I know, chances are I'll have to shoot the next wahoo with the 130... Can we ever win?
