Use Caution diving the 9...8/25/22

...There are Bluefin on the 9 but, yesterday and today, there was an 18' great white also staking out the spot...observed by one of the spotter plane pilots who know their sizes. Two commercial seiners are working the 9, so, the tuna may be gone soon..
...Asked a spotter pilot once, What is the largest great white you have personally seen out there"?...
...Answer: "A 25'er between Cat and SCI"...
...Lots of dorado off Long Beach the last 4 days...even the half-day boats are scoring! One boat had 141 dorado for the day ..Tthere is cooler water inside changing to warmer as you go out....the fish are on the temp edge just outside the oil rigs..
...Just returned from 2 days at the Bath Street Inn B&B in Santa Barbara...The locals at the pier say they are running out to Santa Barbara island where there is squid, which is attracting some big wsb....There is also squid inside West Cove on the backside of Catalina.

There is likely an 18ft or larger great white “on the 9” (a huge area) at any given time and any day of the year, whether a spotter plane sees it or not. Fake news

With only 81 posts in 7 years, I don't see where you are qualified to call anyone out, claiming fake news...Exactly what part is fake? My confirmed info or, your bogus attention seeking post?

You are likely incorrect, but whatever makes you feel good out there 👍

Lukebiker. While what you say about sharks is true, 18 feet is huge and not an everyday thing. Calling an experienced spearfishermans kind input “fake news” is rude and immature.
I have no idea who Bob is or where the 9 is, but I have seen him post a lot of good think over the past number of years I been on here.
Lukebiker you owe Bob an apology and yourself some maturity.
