Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread
I will readily admit that I take a Summer bug 1-2 times per year. It puts no scar on the population in comparison to the density of commercial traps and if I get a ticket it is my own to deal with. If you don't like it, report me if you see me do it. I am an active advocate putting quotas in place for commercial industry and increasing the daily limit for recreational fishermen (in addition to other species).
As I said, this was north of Dume. Dove the same spot over the weekend of the 4th the halibut were IN. Lots of shorties to sort through but strung two nice ones (33' and 39") on my hip and got overambitious and shot a very sand-buried angel laying on a slant so it skewed. I mistook for a 'butt, doh! That's never happened to me. Let's just say over 1/2 hour later, dealing with a VERY pissed off angel and some teeth marks on my foot and heel we were both on shore. Thank God for 5mm booties. Meticulous carving yielded several pounds of angel meat in the freezer to grill for tacos, sandwiches, bbq "pulled shark", fish and chips etc for the rest of summer and well into Fall. |

Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread
Do moderators exist on spearboard anymore? Or has this place become a place for lame ass poachers to brag about their illegal catches?

Not true John, I have received several ban notices for ribbing commercial plugs and ripping on the website.

I don't think I've ever seen anything in those rules about poaching. I guess now it's OK to openly admit your poaching. What an awesome resource to the sport this site has become!
