Still lots of bass moving through. Saw quite a few Saturday at Sachuest Pt. even though this viz was tough and Sunday morning there were schools feeding way up in the bay on the Swansea / Warren line. I'm sure the storm held some more in and we can take them on their way out. C'mon Viz

Re: storm = no more fish to spear ????
Huge barometer changes usually make bass go to way deeper water, which i suspect this is exactly what has happened. However, togs still around for the taking.... Now all you need is to find some viz and a cooler filler with hot water....

Inside the bay. There is still a lot of swell outside right now.

I doubt you will see anything for at least another 4-5 days, and even then you may not. The amount of sand that was taken from Westerly beaches alone would keep the visibility gritty for a month. This one wasn't a simple windy spell, the water was tore up.

Re: storm = no more fish to spear ????
They already are moving. Set my buddy up in one of my stands Sat and he arrowed a small buck. Said he saw 3 diff sets of does being pushed before getting a shot off. My trail cams have lots of deer mostly moving in the day light. Also seeing some rubs and scrapes. Game on!
I’m wondering what you guys think about all the raw sewage that washed out of several sewerage treatment plants all over LIS. I haven’t been able to get out in the last couple months. Would like to go try to harvest some tog. Swimming in a toilet and eating fish that are swimming in a toilet doesn't sound good. Any info on this? Is there any place that test the waters for contaminant levels? How long before the sound flushes this crap out?

Re: storm = no more fish to spear ????
I don't know your area but if its open to shell fishing then I assume its safe to dive and eat the fish. I kind of go by this here in Narr. Bay where we have tons of crap plants dumping into the upper bay. Also here our DEM does test the water for all its areas and you can get open/close results with a phone call.
No shortage of deer being weighed in Saturday at a RI check station. Its been on for awhile. |
