All About Pole Spears & Slings What is it about that traditional method of the early hunter/gatherers under the water? These devices are indeed interesting and effective. |

Polespearing the shallows of Rye in April.
My local beach in April. Small compilation. Hassle free diving but with good results of tasty sand species. I have been fishing these same shallow banks for over 45 years. Still relaxes me. Hope you enjoy.

That’s a beautiful dive spot! April does seem to be a good month there. Congrats.

Re: Polespearing the shallows of Rye in April.
Great video, almost a primer on how to do it. The shots of fish up close while you approach and then dive down to stick them are a wonderful piece of thoughtful film-making, if I can use that term for a video. I see you are wearing those "these are ridiculous" rubber fins (you will know what I mean by that from a long time ago) in some footage and longer blade fins in others.
As many who prowl the shallows and sea grass meadows know half the skill is actually spotting the fish who are often buried up to their eyeballs! Last edited by popgun pete; 10-20-2018 at 07:05 PM. Reason: typo |
