First post and Start to finish roller build; w/ pictures
Hi everyone, I'm Kody Panui and this is my first ever post here on the board. I just want to start off by saying that I have learned so much from this board and from all of you; much more than I ever could have on my own. I am hoping to give back to the community in any way so, today I will be presenting you all with my step by step roller gun build.
But, before I can continue on with my post I must give credit where credit is due. I would, personally, like to thank Petros, Sam and the rest of the Spear America crew for helping me acquire most of the major components for my gun and also for smoothing out bumps along the way. These guys provide an amazing service and ship items in record time all the the way to Hawaii. I would also like to thank Mantis Spearfishing for the beautiful and well designed roller muzzle, it is a work of art. Lastly, I must thank the vocal members of the community who take the time to share their knowledge and who respond to and provide answers to the people who have questions. Without a further a do, let's get on to the build, shall we? The components on my gun include; -d'Angelo I handle -Meandros reverse trigger mech PL -Pathos Aluminum 100cm Barrel -Meandros "Fire" reel (size 2) -Sandvik 7.25mm 140cm Shaft -14mm small i.d. bands -Mantis Roller Muzzle (Black) Got Some stuff in the mail (Hope the pics come out alright) file:///C:/Users/kodyp_000/Desktop/rgd.jpg Sizing up the mech and the handle file:///C:/Users/kodyp_000/Desktop/erger.jpg file:///C:/Users/kodyp_000/Desktop/rereger.jpg Had to grind out a slot so the new loading butt would fit file:///C:/Users/kodyp_000/Desktop/regershrehre.jpg Mech didn't come w/ a pin so I fabed one out of 5/32 music wire. It's supposedly spring steel so i just put some oil on it and will check back for rust file:///C:/Users/kodyp_000/Desktop/hfdgh.jpg |

d'Angelo handle only came with slot for the line release on the left side so I drilled a slot on the right. With use of appropriate ghetto vice grip

Re: First post and Start to finish roller build; w/ pictures
Sorry guys, this noob is having trouble with the whole uploading pictures thing, but the pictures do show up is you enter them as a url in a browser. i.e. open browser, copy link, post in url bar. If anyone can clear this up I would be much obliged. Or if anyone has a question, comment or suggestion about the gun, please, feel free. For we are in a close knit sport that seeks to garner innovation through the experiences gain from trials and tribulations, there are no secrets. But don't ask for my secret spots ya kooks

Re: First post and Start to finish roller build; w/ pictures
Panu, you need to upload these files to a photo hosting site like photobucket or flicker and then copy paste the IMG code here in the message box
go to photobucket, make an account real quick and then click on the upload option, you can hold the shift button on your keyboard and highlight multiple files for upload. Let me know if you need any other help, otherwise ill just give you a drop box folder to send them to and ill put them up. i wanna see this!!!

Re: First post and Start to finish roller build; w/ pictures
Sorry guys I promise I'll get this image posting thing down, Instagram and the like has made me weak. But, for right now I must attend to a few things.
kwTony, thanks for being so helpful, I hope you got to see some of the images I was trying to post up in that Photobucket link. I'll stay persistent in my endeavor but if all else fails I'll take you up on that previous offer. |
