Please keep in mind that these assume that your mask has the frame separated from the skirt and allows a hole to be drilled in the frame to take a screw. Or it can be glued (like epoxy). I think everyone is aware of this as some might already have some kind of mount this way...

This mount has a 15mm (vertical) distance from the centre of the hole to the base of the mount and a 10mm (horizontal) distance from the back of the mount to the surface that gets in contact with the frame.

Would these dimensions be suitable for you? If not, which?
the dimensions sound ideal.

i've got my mystic set aside for a gopro mount. just hadn't found one... until now. it looks like it'll fit perfectly. in fact the mystic already has a hole where the sporasub logo is held in place. i'm thinking it could be an easy installation.

count me in for a mount when you've got them built.

I gathered measurements from a few masks and these looked like a good compromise...
Great, there will be one for you on this batch

@SDDiver5 and @Yodaa, would these dimensions suit you as well?

Re: Quick release Gopro mask mount

I'm currently traveling and don't have my mask with me. I'm sure I could make it work, I've mounted a GoPro tripod mount on the same model mask with no issues.

It will just come down to vertical clearance but that should be no problem...

This is cool, I like it.

Do you plan to produce via injection molding or 3D printing?

I would highly recommend ShapeWays.com for 3D printing production. Their profit model works out fairly advantageous to the designer. Check them out if you haven't already! I'm personally a 3D printing fanatic.

Re: Quick release Gopro mask mount

This video I found on Youtube worked well for me. In the video it tells you which mask to buy. I think it was $37 delivered from Leisure Pro. Your mount would probably work easier because you can quickly detach the camera. I just returned from Hawaii and used the mask/camera quite a bit. I like it.

I'm going with 3D printing.
I've used shapeways and i.materialize
I've ordered 6 copy's (multi copy discount) that should arrive tomorrow or Monday... so I'll have news very soon

Better find some masks that fit you really well and then see if one of them can accommodate this... I know this is not the answer you wanted
As soon as i have these I'll mount on a mask and post "real" pictures

thanks for the interest

Re: Quick release Gopro mask mount

Mount arrived today and looks great...
I had the Gopro fitting confirmed with the C4 mount and the screw and nut fit is perfect...
Have a few of these so I'll send PM to those that showed interest, by order (also had some on Facebook)...
I have a video uploading to Vimeo showing the mount and release with the mask on. I'll put the link as soon as it's processed. For now you can check the pics...

Re: Quick release Gopro mask mount

I sent 5 PM to the 5 people that showed interest...
As it stands I only have 4 available. From my experience with the C4 mount, some people lose the interest but this will be on a first to reply, first served..

I'm already looking at putting the part to sale on shapeways or i.materialize (or both) but probably the price won't be the same...
