Stringer Style

Ok, so having watched numerous videos of spearos in action, I've noticed that some of us string up our fish through the mouth and gills, while others string through the eyes. I'm curious as to the reasons for doing it either way, both pro and con. I know that I string through the mouth so fish like Triggers cant bite my thigh! LOL Thx in advance for your input...

Re: Stringer Style

It is best to dispatch your fish with a knife into the top of the head. Baring that, stringing thru the eyes helps control the fish much better than thru the gills, trigger fish is the exception, for they will take a chunk out of your ass, and are hard to thrust a knife into, to dispatch.
