Jack Passe
Jack Passe is gone. The 1st record holder of the dogtooth tuna, the creator of the spearfishing teaser in the shape of a carangue called "baron", named after the famous and infamous vintage wine sold in a 2-litre cubitainer, the French-speaking pioneer of blue water, the image enthusiast and organiser of the underwater image festival. He is, he was, he will always be the one who inspired us and led us to where we are today. A "baron" of honour, for him, the idea that his last great voyage will bring him to the vicinity of the Geyser and the Zélée Bancs where he will be able to admire forever the sumptuous coral falls in an eternal infinite drift.
Eric de Keyser is a well-known cameraman specialized in underwater films. 20 years ago, in 2000, he shot a film dedicated to spearfishing in Mayotte, "Geyser Expedition", with Jack Pass as the main character. This film, of which I still have the original video tape as a souvenir, is the perfect image of what I love in life. Adventure, friends, action, adrenaline, success, even if it's hard to achieve. Here is the complete film, unfortunately in VF with no subtitles for our English speaking friends. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1...u5jHzyftiyq10E |
