Re: Project boats
All wood including decks, cap, boxes, dash and transom was replaced with nidacore and coosa bluewater. Not one molecule of wood on the boat.

Re: Project boats
Went to Floridah to pick up a 1984 Mako 19 with a 175 hp Evinrude for my kid.He has a Johnson 175 that is running to swap out.Boat had no soft spots!Needed new tires and lights to get her home.
Would be a nice restore but son wants to flip her and move to the next one. Left at 5:30 am and got back at 4:00am this morning.Slept a few and started cleaning and getting things in order. My ass is dragging today

Re: Project boats
Got a 1977 mako 23 for "free" that was hit by a forklift after the hurricane. It was completely rewired pre storm and didnt sink in the storm.
I can do fiberglass work so it is a cheep fix So now I have all below water line work done just need to barrier coat the repairs and bottom paint. Next I have to fix a few spots above the waterlineb fair and paint. I am painting her battleship grey. Buddy gave me a leaning post and got a big bimini for it. She will be powered with a f200 Yamaha with a jackplate. Sent from my LGMS550 using Tapatalk

Re: Project boats
Here's what I just picked up about a month ago. Shes a 1978 Islander Freeport 36, designed by Robert Perry. I bought her from the original owners, an elderly German couple that were having a hard time keeping her up and it became too much for him to sail. He was sailing solo to Catalina well into his 80s.
She was mainly needing a good scrubbing, some woodwork and refinishing, but she is a sturdy, solid cruising boat. She's got a Perkins 4-108, a 4kw Gen-set, a 10gph watermaker, radar, and that's about it. No GPS, no furling, no lazy jacks, no self-tailing winches. I need to find a small dinghy so I can get around once I start getting out to the islands. The boat has an awesome swimstep, one of the features that sold me on the boat. That and the layout. Instead of a v-berth, there is a cabin amidship and the head is forward. Makes for a very usable layout, large salon, and a double-almost queen bed.

Re: Project boats
I have not done much to the boat since it has rained about every time I could do glass work so I started on the console. Just a few pics through various stages...
