Today's Conditions Near Crystal Cove

Shaws was pretty good today around noon with 15-20 feet in some spots and the water was pretty warm too

Current conditions are not all that good from what I have been hearing with viz barely hitting over 10ft...We just have to wait for that south swell to go away so hopefully by the end of the week the conditions will improve

If you happen to get in the water share with us how the conditions were!!

I hit reef point yesterday to take my chick out for her first time ever. 8-10ft viz at the kelp, maybe a little better at depth.

sucks balls...high surf is no bueno..S swell is supposed to be going away by this weekend so vis should improve

I apologize for the late update, but I went out Saturday morning and the viz was pretty good at around 15ft with calm warmer water..not to mention all those little orange tuna shrimp or whatever they were...saw some decent size sheep and some schools of baby WSB

Heading out tomorrow reef point 9am if anyone wants to go just look for a orange banks board floating and thats me...conditions look promising!!!

Well the viz was only around 10ft but it was nice to see how big the kelp forest is getting

HEADS UP!!!! Reports for tomorrow the 20th....the south swell is backing off. There is only going to be one high tide during the day and surf is only supposed to be 1ft with the occasional 2 footer so viz should be very good tomorrow around the south laguna/dana point area and possibly crystal cove as well...some people are guestimating viz around 15-20+ft in some areas so if you have the time I would highly recommend getting in the water tomorrow!

Went out yesterday to check out a kayak launch spot. Solspot predicted it at 1+ swell, turned out to be 3-5 ft. Visibility at murky 5-10 and improved to 15 ft around 2:30pm. No fish seen worth shooting, lots of bait fish, short calicos, short holed up bugs. Brought my brother with me to start him off just snorkeling (puked the entire dive). I wanted to show him urchin and have him try fresh Uni but not a single one was spotted. Just wondering if you guys notice any absence of urchin in your spots. Might be the decline in kelps due to El Nino.

Thanks for the update, I went tout Dana yesterday where the viz was about as about as long as my arm.
