Where to eat lionfish
I have heard from multiple sources that lionfish are quite tasty. Is this true?
I would be happy to increase demand and eat some. Does anyone know where I could find a restaurant that serves them in the Maryland area? |

Re: Where to eat lionfish
Lionfish meat is very delicate and moist with no fishy flavor. Excellent prepared in any way.
I don't know where in Maryland you can have it though.

Re: Where to eat lionfish
A simple recipe is to wipe the filet with butter or olive oil, dust with flour or corn meal and grill over medium heat. Lemon and Chalulla optional.
Challula Green Pepper Sause is pretty dam good stuff

I've used similar recipes on fillets that I've gotten hook/line. The problem with strategy will be sourcing the lionfish fillets.

Yes lionfish is a very good tasting fish. They sell them in many restaurants but I prefer catching my own.

Re: Where to eat lionfish
Thanks for you support to eradicate. The very white meat make them excellent for shipping whilst maintaining their quality. I'd ask your local fish market to import or your favorite restaurant.

Re: Where to eat lionfish
Does anyone know if the Lionfish invading the Mediterranean are the same kind of lionfish as the tasty “US” one?
