Hind Identification :moon:
please let me know if this thread has already been created.
I realize that Hinds, Coney's, and Graysby's are regulated the same, I would just like to know the difference (if anyone actually knows) between them all. Below is what I have concluded based on searching google for 30 minutes. I'd love to actually know instead of just believing the internet. - Coney's are two toned (dark on lateral top half of body, light on lower half). - Red Hinds are similar to Rock Hinds just a lot more red. - I cannot tell the difference between Graysby's and Rock hinds. It seems like they both have the black or white spots on the upper back and the same overall pattern. - Speckled Hind aka Calico Grouper aka Strawberry grouper doesn't have these spots on it's back. Am I at all close? thanks Last edited by creekcruiser; 09-02-2015 at 08:28 AM. Reason: opinions welcome |

Re: Hind Identification :moon:
Just bumped into this thread and I have always wondered the same thing. I thought they were all stawberry grouper till a few weeks ago, I also heard they all have ciguatious poison or the same type poison barracudas have.
