Lap around Florida... "fishing" for tips and ideas

I know there are a LOT of spearos experienced in Florida. My wife and I are driving a long-lap around the Florida coasts in April... from Jacksonville down the East coast to the Keys, then up across the Everglades and follow the Gulf Coast to Alabama. We are travelling in a Rav4 with 2 dogs, mostly tent camping (cheap!), so very little room for toys... I've already decided I will be shore diving and renting the occasional kayak.

I'm hoping for some General Florida Wisdom and Hot Tips from Spearboard folks... your MUST DO list, things to be aware of, things to avoid, camping / hiking / dog tips... and of course any really great shore dives you are willing to share with a passer-by. My weapon for this trip is a Riffe 110 Euro... great little reef gun I've used in Baja, MX for the last 10 years.

If you allow it to rule you,
fear is a hard master to uncrown.
Embrace the discomfort of wanting air,
it is only fear and weakness leaving your body.

You can stop by the Sunshine Skyway, grab some green stripped mussels, purge them, and cook them up like any other tasty mussel. Butter wine sauce from juices and served over good pasta w/ crusty French loaf to soak up all that delicious juice. Desoto point campground is nice and nearby.
Message me for further details if you need.

Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?”

There is some great spearfishing on the east coast but not much shore diving, at least in the northeast portion. The jetties around inlets are pretty dangerous, current, poor vis, and can be a bit sharky.
If Democrats don't want foreigners involved in our elections, why do they think it's all right for illegals to vote?
