Question North Carolina Spear Lake Suggestions Needed

Hello friends!

I'm new to North Carolina from the US Southwest. I live in Raleigh, hours from the beach so I want to try some local lake spearfishing. Anyone know of a good central NC lake with reasonably good visibility for spearing?

Thanks,
Mxgrogg

Re: North Carolina Spear Lake Suggestions Needed

I also recently moved to Raleigh and have looked for a sufficiently clear lake until I can make trips to the ocean. I haven't had any luck. All the lakes I've checked so far have been very murky all of the time. The most promising thing I found was White Lake which is almost 2 hrs south of Raleigh, heavily developed all the way around the lake, and loaded with boat traffic in the summer. Not ideal. At that point, I'll just be taking the 2 hour drive to Wilmington/Wrightsville...
