Dry Tortuga Trip, Crew / Divers needed
I have a 45' Sea Ray and a scuba tank fill compressor. I'm looking for divers to go on a 3 night trip to Dry Tortuga area. Boat handling experience helpful. This is recreational hunting not commercial.
I've done this trip before and it is fun. Trip dates Early June. Details to be discussed. Let me know if you're interested.

Great. Sent you a PM. Compressor should be in on a couple of weeks.
Check these towers out https://coastalanglermag.com/the-mag...om-sw-florida/ That where I want to go

I would also be interested, and can bring a well qualified buddy too. We both know how to handle boats well. Let me know. Thx...

Re: Dry Tortuga Trip, Crew / Divers needed
Wow its been many years since I've posted on spearboard but just wanted to say that I dove this tower in 2010 on the return trip from Marathon to Sarasota. By far the coolest dive I've ever done. Viz up top was probably 70' but there was a really bad murk layer below that. All told I think we boated 2 large cobia, 2 large permit, and a few chunky snapper. One thing to keep an eye on is the shark, jewfish, and cuda activity. After we shot a few fish they knew the drill and it became difficult to get anything on a stringer. I suggest bringing a bunch of extra shafts as the tower itself is covered in barnacles and I had multiple shafts lost to cut lines. I put on scuba gear but never did get to the bottom. Chickened out in the murk, being swarmed by barking jewfish and knowing how many sharks were down there! Definitely post some pictures after! Good Luck!

UPDATE:
Ok, I’ve booked a slip at Fort Meyers Municipal marina July 8-22. During that time I’m looking to do 1-2 night trips out to the towers and reefs in the Dry Tortuga area. Cost will be reasonable. Electric compressor will be aboard. PM me if you are interested.😎
