Clearwater help

Hey I have some family down in Clearwater and they have been bugging me to come down and visit. I figured this would be a good opportunity to spearfish in some new environments. I was just wondering what time of the year usually has the best conditions to dive? I plan on free diving and 2 sher’s web site says they do free dive Speerfishing. Any one know of any other dive charters in the area that allow free dive Speer fishing?

Tj runs a solid operation there with 2Shea charters. I only scuba dive, so don't know who does what charter wise as it pertains to scuba vs free. You may reach out to Frank with Hook n Spear, but no idea if he does free dive charters. The local dive shops in Clearwater and St Pete may be a good resource for you.

Call Bill Van Deman with Abyss freediving - (317) 412-2626. He should be able to put together a group of free dive hunters that you can go out on 2Shea with. Do you have any proper freedive certifications?

Later April or May is usually a good time.

Yeah I’m FFI 1 thanks for the help. Also what do you guys think is the best time for going not sure when your windy,rainy season is?
