wifes cousin decieded to have her wedding at Makena on Maui so im starting the research now yeah! first question... i gotta get there... at the moment, flights to HANA are 1200 flights to the other northerly airport are 750 whats the dif? whats the best time to wait for good fares?

There are no flights to Hana....well small planes there are, but all flights you need to check are to OGG(which is Kahalui airport) Just plug in OGG to destination and it will give you flight info. The only other side a plane would go to is west side(kahana) which you don't want. Wedding will be on the south side (kihei). If you want to save a little money on hotels, check into The Maui Coast. Across the street from Charley Young beach which is my favorite beach on that side. Also !4 minutes from wedding. Good luck and enjoy the trip. I lived in Kihei for 20 years. Thats my home.

thanks mauifree just what i need to start with, im coming from santa barbara with wife and 10 and 13 yr old boys. I'm really looking forward to seeing the sights there heard so much about it over the years. I'll post up more questions once i get some tix.

Great resource, thanks! Looks like i'll be visiting the big island in June for a wedding, would like to stick around for a few days of diving if possible. Anyone care to comment on what's going on that time of year? I'm mainly interested in Bluewater, but wouldn't mind working the reef (GT's?) if possible.

If you guys need any info when you get to Maui, do yourselves a favor, go to Maui sporting goods in wailuku and pick those guys heads. Also don't forget to support the local business. That is hands down the best spearfishing shop on the island. Check it out. It's like Disneyland!! Have a great time!! Alohaz!!
