Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
if my geography is correct trigger will be here until it is exterminated, it's a "warm water", non migratory, and does not "know how to" return back to waters warm enough, it will either be hunted, fished or die; one reason for which there's no regulation regarding their take in RI.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Viz has been outstanding along the Westerly beaches, out at Block Island and along the coast of SEConn since Saturday. Hit a favorite spot of mine yesterday best viz thus far in 2010. Get out today before the wind and rain turn it into pea soup.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
It was a little too rough yesterday to push for Fishers so we dove some inshore breakwalls in the lee of the wind. Viz was probably about 4-6'. This was in Stonington, CT area on an incoming tide. Temp reading was 56.8, so it's cooling down from last Sunday's 61.8. Managed some nice tog's on R/R and this one on the spear. He tried to hide in the breakwall, and hide he did, but not good enough. Talk about a hail mary! I saw him briefly before he holed up and I could tell it was a decent tog, so I estimated his location in the hole and BAM!

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Conditions were good at Block this past weekend with vis from 10-25 depending on the spot. Water temp was a chilly 54 degrees. 4 bass made it into the boat including Gabe's 35-pounder

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
This wasn't worth starting a thread over and I remembered this existed, so why not.
Dove today with Austin and nailed 5 tog between the two of us. There are out there and thick. Viz was a good 15 feet at the beginning and then slowly deteriorated with the outgoing tide. When we got out it was probably about 8 feet. Shot a lot w/ the GoPro, so I'm sure you'll see clips later on. No bass. If I was around tomorrow, I'd dive Pt. Judith to shoot some. I was going to try another good early season spot R&R this afternoon but the wind is killing that idea. Water felt warmer than last time. I'd venture to guess it was 53-55. |

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Yeah, I figured, looking at the swell forecast just a minute ago. I'm not going to be around at all next week, that was more of a "if I had a few more days here, that's what I'd do to shoot a bass" statement.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Crystal clear at kings beach today... If i had to guess I'd say it was pushing 20' in most spots. Saw a couple blackfish but couldn't get close enough for any shots except one... I guess the vis goes both ways.
came home with a decent tog though, first fish of the year! |

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
I didn't go out. It's windy, been raining 3 days and viz is not an option. On the other hand, just finished off a kick-ass moose chili so today I made baby backs. Dry rub with a lot of heat and sweet. 10 hours with hickory smoke, YouTube - ‪Mmm Ribs‬‏
