We are announcing the dates for 9th annual La Paz World Cup Invitational Spearfishing Championship, hosted by Palapas Ventana, 7-13 July 2015

The La Paz World Cup Invitational Spearfishing Championships is a
prestigious blue water spearfishing tournament started in 2006 by
Dennis Haussler. Elite spearos from all over the world compete in a 4
day format that involves very selective spearing of pelagic species.
Wahoo, AmberJack, Dorado, Roosterfish, Marlin and Tuna, are the
target species

The diving is dynamic and challenging with depths that vary from 15ft
to over 100ft. The participants are divided into teams of two in each
boat, but they compete individually for prize money and incredible
equipment from over 15 sponsors of top Spearfishing Gear. This year
there will be 2500 usd of prize money.

The La Paz World Cup is more than just a tournament...It is a world
class event with a purpose.. Each year the fish from the event are
donated to raise money for scholarships that keep our local kids in
school. During the 5 day tournament competitors all live on sight and
this event has a unique feel of comradery between divers.
