Re: California Dive Boats -- the legend of Radon (pictures)
All depends on size...I know the 20ft slips are going for around $6,000...but they have a $4,000 transfer fee to the city. As the slip sizes go up so do the prices and the transfer fees. I think a 25ft slip would run around $20,000 not including a transfer fee. I haven't looked into slips much larger than that cause...well I'm not on that playing field yet.

Slips? Bro.................the MOSQUITO FLEET lives on their trailers.....in your front yard.............at least if you're lucky and the neighbors enjoy the sight of your fixation....!
Speaking of some fellow Mozzies...............here's some shots from Scott recent explorations along the backside of Catalina with his new Greenough 17. Man, these photos make me want to head south on the 101 and not stop till I'm in front of the launch ramp at MDR.... |

Joe,
The challenge with slips can be your live-a-board neighbors Be sure to investigate before you buy.

Not interested in slipping my boat. Just curious what they go for. I'd heard they were outrageous. SB Surfer just confirmed it. I love having my boat on a trailer kept at my house where I can tinker with it. How's your boat running?

This Wilson 20' has been on C-list for a while, listed at $17,500. The price is now $12,500 OBO...might be worth taking a look at if you are in the market. It appears the owners need to sell it fast.
Not my boat. http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/boa/4222877032.html |

I watched as this Wilson 26 was re-done at Anderson's a few years ago, and have always liked how it turned out. I've heard it can get pretty darn close to 50 (*not sure if that's knots or miles per hour, not that it matters much at that speed...), though we all know that's pretty diff on the ocean on most days.

Re: California Dive Boats -- the legend of Radon (pictures)
I was down in Santa Barbara yesterday to be there for the 'Maiden Launch' of my buddy Michael's insane new custom Greenough 21. Over a year in the building, it's Michael's vision of what a perfect skiff should be, and the crew at Anderson's outdid themselves as per usual. Too many little details to list really but some basics: custom Trail Rite trailer (*longer than stock) with electric/hydraulic, dual axle brakes (both axles; he lives in NorCal with some mountains...), twin Yamaha 70 four strokes, all Garmin touch screen and radar, 120 gallon below decks fuel cell, huge board/storage boxes built into caprail, trailer has custom galvie 'launch/retrieval' cage to assist in-the-surf activity in NorCal at a few locations, LED deck/nav/cabin lighting, microwave, fold down table in uniquely designed cabin w/ built in galley, and more. Here's some photos-

Some more photos of the boat on it's first splash in the salt...Ed's aqua diesel straight shaft Greenough 21 'Endale' was out as well with with the crew, and we got a few laps in before sunset. The stoke on Michael's face could have powered up the SB waterfront; a special day indeed. Kudos to Bill, Ed, Johnny, Woody and the rest of the crew for making another dream a reality.

SKiff-
A while back you posted contact info for a local guy who makes the canvas back pilot house enclosure. How much does one of those cost appx? How much did he charge you? |

Yeah, the guy's name is Dan Herrera, and the company name is 'Cachalot Canvas'. Easy to Google him up, he's right there in Goleta. When I had mine done, I think I paid like $700 for everything, including the installation? He's a genius at what he does, and mine has really weathered well in spite of being used pretty hard...
