Re: New video

That grouper at the end looked big enough?

Re: New video

All fish shot were legal. The one at the end is a Graysby (Strawberry) grouper. No size requirements.

It looked like a legal gag swam right by a moment before the shot?

If he had been a scamp (which he MIGHT have been - hard sometimes for me to tell underwater) he was legal. Gag? Definitely not legal.

Re: New video

Nice vid Eric. How was the strawberry grouper? Did you filet it or just gut & gill it? I logged in to ask about what that was but someone beat me to it.

Reds, blacks, and gags all seem pretty similar to me. Scamp is wayyyy different (better). Curious where those little guys stack up

Re: New video

It was quite good, Matt. A lot more like a black sea bass. I have yet to try scamp, though.

Scamp is pretty much the same.

Re: New video

So, I think that snapper I shot was actually a cubera. It sure has hell didn't smell or taste anything like a mangrove snapper when we ate it last night. Damn good.
