Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Novice diver here...hoping to target fluke in RI this weekend from shore and looking for some tips. I know I need to look for sandy bottoms adjacent to rock, and drop-offs.

Can they be spotted on the bottom? Do they completely bury themselves? Do they spook easy?

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Answer on fluke: yes ,yes and maybe. The hard part will be finding fish in inshore that measure the new reg. at 19 "while commercial is still probably at 14"

Jamestown on incoming tide this morning. Viz ~8ft (deeper - worst). Plenty of life on shallow. Shoot my personal best 28# bass on 10ft depth!

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Visibility has been pretty bad over the last two weeks in Block Island. Some nice size fish were taken though.

6ft white shark caught and released by another trawler off of Misquamicut beach today.

I blame the exploding local seal population.

I was just diving out there today and the viz was poor. I'm glad I didn't run into that guy!
